Your documents never leave your device. No accounts, no ads, no analytics, no cookies.
The short version
Raccoon PDF Editor works inside your web browser. The PDFs and images you open are read, edited and saved on your own device. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else, and we do not run a server that could receive or store them.
What we collect
Nothing about you or your documents. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no tracking pixels and no cookies.
What your browser keeps
To save you time, your browser stores a few things for this site on your device only: your settings, the signatures you save, your signing certificate if you choose to remember it, your name for comments, and your place and bookmarks in reading mode. We cannot see them. You can erase them with the Erase what this browser saved button on the home page, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
Text recognition (OCR)
When you use Recognize text, your browser downloads the text-recognition engine and the data for the language you pick from the jsDelivr network. Like any download, that request includes your IP address. Your document is not sent: the reading happens on your device.
Signature requests
Signature requests, signer names, email addresses and the audit trail are stored inside the PDF itself. You send that PDF yourself, by email, chat or any other way you choose. If you press an Email button, your own email app opens with a message ready; we do not send or see it.
Hosting
The website files are served by Vercel. Like every web host, Vercel processes basic request information, such as your IP address and browser type, to deliver the pages and protect the service. This does not include your documents, which never leave your device.
A browser-enforced promise
The site sends a Content Security Policy that instructs your browser to block the page from sending data to any other server, apart from the OCR download above. Your browser enforces this, not us.
Children
The site is a general-purpose tool and does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
